‘Why’ makes operations much less daunting

Sometimes sorting through processes, systems, tools and programs can be daunting. Where to start, where to start?

There’s something about those words that seems to invoke images of paperwork, hassle, and frustration. It’s no secret that having the proper tools and strategies in play can really elevate your game, but sometimes figuring out which processes are right for you, and which ones are right at a given time, can be confusing.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Start with “Why.”

It really is amazing how when you start with the big picture, you’ll be in a better place to work through the smaller details. Think of it this way, when building your dream home, what would you do first? Would you design your home, first? Or would you go buy all of the materials, first? You can’t know how much wood, what color of brick, how much cement, and which type of flooring you’ll need, until you have clearly laid out what the building plan is for the house.

It seems to us that it wouldn’t be very efficient (or cost effective) to buy the materials, before you even know which materials you need. Big picture, then small picture—That’s what we’re going for here.

It’s the same thing with the various operations and tools that you use to run your business. Start with your “Why,” and your clients’ “Why.” Lay out the big picture—the blueprint—and you’ll give both yourself and your business a real advantage.
